Martin Hammler, a mechanical engineer, qualified as a Chartered Patent Agent in 1994. Martin is a partner who specialises mainly in Patents at Phillips and Leigh, with clients ranging from multinational corporations to SMEs and individual inventors. He is highly experienced in design matters, and also handles Trademark work. His particular areas of expertise include packaging, building accessories and oilfield equipment.
Martin spent four years as an Examiner at the UK Patent Office, where he worked with a wide variety of subject matter, including applications relating to leak testing equipment, and gained knowledge and experience of official procedures and preferences. He then joined Phillips and Leigh in 1988. While working with us, he obtained full UK and European Patent Agent qualifications, and became a partner in the firm in 1995.
Martin has served on the faculty and Steering Group for CIPA’s Patent Administrators’ Course. He was formerly an Examiner for the JEB Designs and Copyright paper and has served on the JEB with responsibility for the Validity and Infringement finals paper.
