John is Phillips & Leigh’s Practice and IT Manager.  He has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the business of the firm.  John also has direct responsibility for the work of a number of the firm's clients - as well as having his own caseload, primarily in Trademarks.  His areas of special interest include

Commercial advice, particularly in settlement negotiations
IT for IP practitioners and owners
Trade mark searching
Staffing and other internal matters

Career history
John worked in the insurance industry, which provided a valuable commercial background, before gaining a degree in mechanical engineering.  John joined Phillips & Leigh in 1994.  He became Practice Manager in 1999 and is responsible for the design, installation and operation of our IT system.
