Madeleine is a dual-qualified solicitor, and thus concentrates on transactional issues and contentious proceedings. She often works in conjunction with a client's other professional advisers and instructs or co-ordinates the provision of specialist advice and services.

Client demand has led to her involvement in portfolio management as well as IP litigation. Her workload specifically involves

Career history
Madeleine obtained a law degree and professional Graduate Diploma, followed by a legal traineeship with Glasgow’s largest court agency firm, where she subsequently qualified as a solicitor.  She left to run the court department of a smaller firm.  In 1992, she was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.  She holds current practising certificates from the Law Society of England & Wales as well as the Law Society of Scotland.
She has worked for the Law Society of Scotland, in Legal Education and the Client Relations Office, and for the Chartered Insurance Institute, responsible for its Trademark portfolio, before joining Phillips and Leigh in 2000.
